At Certified Transportation Group we are committed to providing consistently high quality services to our customers, and every move is closely monitored to ensure that each customer is serviced properly. Whether it be through the communication feedback from our Customer Service department, customer feedback or through the internal controls set in place.

The staff at Certified Transportation Group is our biggest asset. We are constantly training and developing our personnel, creating career opportunities that provide advancement within the company.

The most visible part of our company is the equipment we have out on the road. We are committed to running the safest, best equipped vehicles on the road. Significant investments are made each year in road equipment to ensure that the fleet remains in optimal condition for each assignment.

To ensure the smooth operation of our organization, the company has invested heavily in telecommunications and computers. Today, we have complete EDI capabilities coupled with user friendly capabilities both in-house and between locations.

Certified Transportation Group was instrumental in developing the Direct System, a Windows based operating program that gives us the ability to manage a large volume of business with maximum efficiency. All departments involved in handling a move can easily access the system to add or draw information on any shipment to ensure smooth handling of every phase of the move. Our system automatically updates each shipment in the system every half hour.

Database management systems have been developed to assist in inventory management, billing, claims settlement and overall communications enhancement. Extensive fax, e-mail, 24 hour internet access and our automated emergency voice messaging systems are just a sample of our sophisticated communication services available to our customers.

Performance Record

Certified Van Service, Inc., most recent claims ratio is 2.94%. This is an extremely low claims ratio that Certified has worked hard to earn and which we are quite proud of.

In areas of performance that the moving industry measures, Certified is consistently earning top performance grades.

We are an active member of the Better Business Bureau. We maintain an excellent record with the BBB as well as all consumer-monitoring agencies. When our customers have the opportunity to speak, we appreciate what they have to say and are proud of what they don't have to say.

We are always welcoming new customers and our commitment to excellence has led to many corporate customer relationships that have been in place for over twenty years.

Each staff member averages 12 years of employment with Certified, and it's their dedication to customer service that has played a vital role in Certified's success and rapid growth.

History

Organization

Certified Transportation Group is one of several related corporations wholly owned by or in which the McNamara family has significant or controlling interests.

The largest, and the original operating company, is Certified Van Services, Inc. which Joseph McNamara Sr. founded in 1939. The company has been owned and operated since its inception by the McNamara family. The principles of the company are William McNamara, President and Joseph McNamara, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

The company is headquartered in Islandia, New York. General offices, a full service warehouse and distribution center, as well as our full service truck shop are located on several acres just off the Long Island Expressway. The facility, built and occupied by the McNamaras since 1986, was designed to handle the many functions that the company provides.

The management at Certified Transportation Group adheres to a high standard of work ethics that is not commonly found today. We believe in providing quality services, being loyal and fair to our customers, being innovative and enthusiastic, and cultivating a staff that is responsive to our customer's needs. This has resulted in a large and loyal customer base that is continually growing. The company is continually expanding its facilities and capabilities in order to meet the needs of current customers and to accommodate new customers.

Certified Air Cargo, Inc. was organized in 1982 to service the unique needs of a single customer. Today we handle thousands of shipments yearly worldwide. We are an IATA agent that customers turn to to solve unique logistical problems for all types of equipment and product movement.

Our services have expanded and we now provide multilingual abilities, in-house experts for documentation, letters of credit, customs clearance and licensed freight forwarding. We are the only Container Freight Station/US Customs Examination Facility on Long Island.

As a result of the success of our CAC operations, Certified International Movers was established. Certified International Movers is essentially the International Corporate Relocation and Removals arm of the Certified Transportation Group. This part of our operation specializes in the movement of household goods in and out of the United States as well as between second and third world countries.

In 1984, as a result of business that was developed in neighboring Connecticut, we established Certified Van Service of Connecticut, Inc., a full service operation based in Bethel, Connecticut. This operation is also fully equipped for office and industrial moving, warehouse and distribution, crating, packing and moving. On its own, Certified Van Service of Connecticut has become an award winning agent.

To supplement and expand our services, Certified Transportation Group has expanded its interests into one other full service agency; Shannon Transport, Inc. Iocated in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.
